About Isaiah

(I) Sycamore Story

I was raised in a small West Virginia town by faithful parents who introduced me to Christ as a young child. My mom led me in a prayer of repentance and faith when I was five. I was baptized a couple of years later in believer’s baptism. It was around this time when I first experienced an irresistible call to be a pastor—even though I had little understanding of what it meant at the time.

(II) Ministry

I accepted my first pastoral position in 2019 as worship pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Mason, West Virginia. I served in this role for about three years. While there, I was ordained to the Gospel Ministry on September 26, 2021.

In 2022, God called me and my family to Cross Lanes Baptist Church in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, where I serve as student pastor.

I love serving on mission around the world. I’ve been to Peru and the Czech Republic.

I’m a member of the Executive Board for the WV Convention of Southern Baptists, representing the Pioneer Baptist Association.

(III) Education

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biblical Studies from Spurgeon College and a Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, on May 5, 2023.

About Jordon

(I) Sycamore Story

Growing up, my life was not ideal. My family was broken, and life was hard. When I was 15 my mother was diagnosed with stage IV metastatic breast cancer, and she passed away when I was 18. Looking back, I can see God’s hand all over my life. He has used so many broken parts of my story for His glory and good.

I have lived in West Virginia the majority of my life. Although, I have lived in Ohio, Nevada, Tennessee, California and Mississippi, too.

(II) Family & Fun

In 2020, I married my longtime crush, Isaiah. Now we have 2 little boys, Dayton Emmaus and Shepherd Brooks. I stay at home with them both. We have a small flock of backyard chickens.

Along with taking care of little boys and chickens, I enjoy embroidery, cooking, and hiking! Prayerfully, I am doing all of these things to the glory of God. I hope this blog leads us all to make much of Christ.
